Separators

The separator is used for separating of mechanical impurities from industrial wastewaters. It is applied especially in meat, fish, preserving industry, etc. In broader context, the separator can be applied everywhere for removal of any solid particles of impurities - mechanical impurities (pieces of tissue, leather, bones, vegetable, fruit, etc.) from liquid environment or conversely for dewatering various wet substances. In contrast with rotary screen, separator catches also fibrous impurities, like feathers and particles heavier than water. Nevertheless, for the same flow rate its size is larger, because of flow area related to 1 m2, which is smaller.



Principle of separator function:

Polluted water is pumped or gravitationally flows to the separator. Through the inflow piping it is led up to the end of rotating cylindrical screen. Here it falls to the internal surface of this cylindrical screen, water flows through holes and releases mechanical impurities. Pre-cleaned water falls to outflow tank, and from here the drainage piping drains it. Due to rotation of cylindrical screen, mechanical impurities larger than holes slide on walls of staging conveying worm and fall into the discharging piping or container. The spray washes the gaps of cylindrical screen.

Area of application:

1. Separators with a sieve with lengthwise slots is used to removal mechanical impurities from water and solutions or to dewatering various wet substances. Most often it is used to remove coarse particles heavier than water. It is not suitable for pollution like feathers and particles that could jam in the slots.

2. Separators with a sieve made of perforated sheet with circular openings of required diameter.
It is used to removal particles that slot drum is not appropriate for. It is suitable for wastewater polluted with feathers or fibrous materials. Another use is in paper industry for dewatering and thickening implies from the lines for preparation of material for papermaking machines.

We produce Separators on the basis of customer demand according to a specific placement in the operation where can be used for other purposes than specified, such as washing of various crushed mixtures, slaked lime etc. An atypical version can be also used for separating or sorting of bulk materials according to desired fractions.

It is necessary to take into account:

  • volume of wastewater
  • density of pollution
  • kind (material) of pollution
  • maximum size of flown through impurities
  • presence of adhesive substances (fats)

Besides separators and rotary screens we produce also dewatering presses.
